Kasper F. Regenburg

Assistant Professor

Bocconi University

Biography

Hi! I'm an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Bocconi University. I study private firms and the interplay between corporate banking, transparency, and illicit behavior of firms, managers, and employees. I find the research topics important because private firms rely on bank debt, face limited public scrutiny, and typically have weak corporate governance mechanisms, making them more prone to illicit actions by managers and employees. My work exploits unique and rich data from registries and government authorities as most private firms are small and opaque.

I hold a Ph.D. in Accounting from Copenhagen Business School and spent a year at Chicago Booth as a non-degree student visitor during my doctoral studies.
